Franc D’Ambrosio was a special guest at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s The Other Side of the Brain: Exploring Emotion and Music in Dyslexia, presented in cooperation with the UCSF Memory and Aging Center and the Global Brain Health Institute on February 4.  D’Ambrosio participated in an intimate conversation with Maria Luisa Gorno Tempini, MD, PhD, director of UCSF’s Dyslexia Center, sharing personal experiences and challenges with dyslexia in his career as a professional actor, singer and musical educator.  The finale of the evening was a special performance by D’Ambrosio, including a medley of songs from The Phantom of The Opera in which he performed the title role more than 2,100 times, and earning him the title “The World’s Longest Running Phantom.”  Gorno Tempini said, “We are very grateful that Franc was willing not only to sing, but also share his unique experiences with our captivated audience.”
